The purpose of this lecture is to analyze the current and past situations surrounding the relationship between tourism and the region, and to understand the difficulties of destination management.
This lecture will provide a modern perspective on the relationship between tourism and the region, based on the newspaper articles, film 'The Last Tourist' and other films and videos, as well as literature related to tourism policy since the 1960s, and your own tourism experiences. We will consider deeply into issues and develop discussions from practical, international, and historical perspectives. Based on this, we will consider the meaning of destination management of tourism. I would also like to do some fieldwork if possible to deepen the understanding of actual situation of tourism.

現在や過去の観光と地域との関係性をめぐる状況を分析し、観光の見方に多様性を持たせることを目的とする。
The purpose of this lecture is to analyze the current and past situations surrounding the relationship between tourism and the region, and to understand the difficulties of destination management.
本講義は、観光に関するニュース記事、映画「The last tourist」やその他の映画・動画、さらには1960年代以降の観光政策に関わる文献、自分自身の観光体験などをベースに、観光と地域との関係性について、現代的な視点、国際的な視点、そして歴史的な視点から、問題を深く掘り下げて議論を展開していく。その上で、観光を地域がマネジメントすることの意味について検討する。また、可能であればフィールドワークを行い、観光に対する理解を深めたい。
This lecture will provide a modern perspective on the relationship between tourism and the region, based on the newspaper articles, film 'The Last Tourist' and other films and videos, as well as literature related to tourism policy since the 1960s, and your own tourism experiences.
