Through learning recent research in perceptual psychology and related fields (cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive science, developmental science, etc.), students develop their academic skills such as critical inspection of data, giving presentations, and persuasive discussion.
Each student is required to deliver an oral presentation on recent research topics, followed by group discussions and debates among all students. The presentation content may encompass recently published articles or a student's own recent research data or research plan. When students give a presentation about recent research publications, they are encouraged to select English papers, primarily from perceptual psychology and related fields (cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive science, developmental science, etc.). When students talk about their study work, it will double as training for presenting results at actual research conferences. By considering the advantages and problems evident in their research, students will develop an ability to understand data from a logical and critical perspective.

知覚心理学およびその関連領域（認知心理学，実験心理学，認知科学，発達科学等）の最新の研究知見に触れ，批判的にデータを検証する視点やプレゼンテーション・ディスカッション能力などのスキルを獲得することを目指す。

最新の研究内容について，プレゼンテーション形式で発表を行い，履修者全員で議論・討論を行う。扱う内容については，最近発表された研究論文および自身で行った最近の研究内容あるいは研究計画などが考えられる。最近の研究論文を紹介する場合には，知覚心理学およびその関連領域（認知心理学，実験心理学，神経生理学，認知神経科学等）の英語論文であることが望ましい。自身の研究内容について発表を行う際には，学会発表のトレーニングを兼ねる。研究内容の優れた点や問題点などを考えることで，データを論理的・批判的に検証する視点などを養う。
