【Course Objectives】

As society has become more complex in recent years, the problems faced by clients have diversified and become more complex as well. Also, as government policy seeks to promote comprehensive, regional care systems and inter-professional cooperation, a deep understanding of approaches to integrating people into their environments will be necessary for those undertaking the task of psychological support. Furthermore, as certified public psychologists and certified clinical psychologists contribute to the promotion of community mental health and wellbeing, their value to society is likely to increase. In this class, students will learn about approaches that are rooted in the philosophy and ideas of community psychology, and they will deepen their understanding of methods applicable in a variety of fields including welfare, education, industry, and medicine. The goal is for students to become competent in all of the above.

【Course Contents】

This class will examine ① the theory and methods of psychological support focused on human relationships within groups such as families, and ② the theory and methods of psychological support applicable to regional communities and groups/organizations. Moreover, students will learn about ③ the various interventions and inter-professional cooperation that employ psychological counseling, advice, guidance, etc. to ① and ② above.
