【Course Objectives】

By treating the stage as a device that alienates the real world and practicing theatrical techniques such as Open Dialogue, this course will broaden the scope of production of theatrical works and hone the ability to set themes.

【Course Contents】

The stage as an alienation of reality has functioned as a place for resonation of voices that cannot be heard in the real world. It has shaken people's perceptions when the unconsciousness and memory of individuals at the edges of society, who do not appear in this world, stand on the "stage." In this class, we see the "stage" as our real world, not a so-called platform for performance. In the first half of the semester, students will engage in group discussion informed by research, lectures, and viewing actual works. In the second half, they will regard the mental illness treatment technique "Open Dialogue" etc as a theatrical technique and, through dialogue, look at the inner motives slumbering deep within each of us. Training will be conducted to launch each project.
