Acquire skills in processing and analyzing data using statistical methods. Through practical exercises, develop data analysis skills applicable to a master's academic paper and business.
In this class, students will learn how to process and analyze data based on statistics and practice using data analysis tools, with a particular focus on application to a master's academic paper. Specifically, with the aim of contributing to a master's academic paper, students will practice data collection and analysis according to their own research topics. In addition, by covering a wide range of topics from the concept of data analysis to methods and practices of data collection, pre-processing, visualisation and analysis, students aim to acquire data analysis skills that can be used not only in a master's academic paper, but also in business. Although R is the primary analysis tool, the key points of data analysis are explained using examples from research and business, along with simple processing in R. This approach avoids complex formulae or programming to make it easy to understand for those unfamiliar with statistics or programming.

統計学にもとづくデータの処理・分析の方法を学ぶとともに、実践を通じて修了研究および修了後の業務に活かせるデータ分析スキルを習得する。

本講義では、修了研究への活用に主眼を置いて、統計学にもとづくデータの処理・分析を行う方法と実例について学び、データ分析ツールを用いた実践を行う。特に修了研究に資することを目的として、実際に各自の研究テーマにあわせてデータの収集から分析までを実践する。あわせて、データ分析の考え方からデータの収集・前処理・可視化・分析の方法とその実践までを広く扱うことで、修了研究だけでなく修了後の実務にも活かせるデータ分析スキルの習得を目指す。分析ツールとしては主にRを想定しているが、統計学やプログラミングに馴染みがない場合でも理解しやすいよう、極力数式や複雑なプログラミングを用いず、研究や実務における事例やシンプルなRでの処理をもとにデータ分析の要点を解説する。

履修にあたって必ずしも統計学およびプログラミングの能力は必要ではないが、修了研究に統計処理・データ分析を用いる意欲が求められる。
データ分析等に必要となるためPCを準備すること。なお定量分析には主にRを用いることを想定している。
本講義の履修上限は10名とし、履修にあたって事前に選考を実施する予定である。選考の詳細については別途周知する。
本科目は、5年以上の実務経験を有する実務家教員による授業であり、全授業回数の50％以上がディスカッションなど双方向形式の授業によって運営されます。
