Notes 社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。

【Course Objectives】

The work of the nonprofit and civic sectors is now essential to the realization of a better society. In this course, the aim is that students will understand the systems (legal system, taxation system, etc.) related to specified nonprofit corporations (NPO corporation) in particular among not-for-profit organizations and will deepen their understanding to the level where they could actually operate or support a nonprofit corporation. Public interest corporations are also overviewed.

【Course Contents】

First, students will understand the details of the systems (laws, taxes). Then, we will give an overview of the not-for-profit and civic sectors in Japan and deepen students' understanding of the significance and issues of not-for-profit corporations being active in society. Students will learn the creative efforts of various not-for-profit corporations and understand the issues in the field. We will invite guest instructors who are active in the not-for-profit sector as appropriate, and provide opportunities to gain on-the-ground insights and updated information.
