Many people may have reaffirmed the fact that a person cannot live alone due to the corona sickness. In this class, the absence of a subject who is responsible for caring for and mourning has become apparent against the backdrop of changes in family relationships such as the declining birthrate and aging population and the increase in unmarried people. Think about and deepen your understanding of the relationship between people and society.
Death is a natural phenomenon that is inevitable for all, but how to accept it is socially and culturally regulated. While the corona wreck has effectively ranked "life", the "ambiguous loss" of the last farewell has spread. Currently, how to accept death is an urgent social issue. Dignified death, euthanasia, isolated death, funerals and grave transformations ... By considering how death is treated in modern Japan, we will clarify the structure of Japanese society and the current state of families and communities. Death wants to share literature and materials as much as possible because various academic approaches such as sociology, philosophy, folklore, and religion are possible.

コロナ禍で、人は一人では生きられないという事実を改めて認識した人も多いだろう。本授業では、少子高齢化や非婚者の増加といった家族関係の変化などを背景として、看取りや弔いを担う主体の不在が顕在化していることから、主体のありようを考えることを通じて、人と人との、人と社会との関係性について考え、理解を深める。

死は万人に不可避の自然現象だが、それをどう受け止めるかは、社会的・文化的に規定される。コロナ禍で事実上「いのち」の順位付けが行われる一方、最後のお別れができない「あいまいな喪失」が広がった。現在、死をどう受容するかが喫緊の社会的課題となっている。尊厳死や安楽死、孤立死、葬儀や墓の変容…。現代日本で死がどのように扱われているのかを考察することで、日本社会の構造、家族やコミュニティの現状を明らかにする。死は、社会学や哲学、民俗学、宗教学など様々な学問的アプローチが可能なだけに、できるだけ文献や資料を共有したい。
