After Covid19, the global society is suffering from geopolitical risks both in Ukraine and in Middle East while extreme weathers caused by climate change continues to harm tour society, which is caused by human activities. A third of the forest was lost since humans began agriculture. Our mass consumption is damaging the planet. Covid 19 and conflicts are especially damaging the lives of the most vulnerable low income people, hindering the attainment of SDGs. Now that not only government and business but also consumers should play the key role in transforming to our society into more sustainable one.
Being business persons, there are few chance to read reports and proposals directly. Usually, summarized documents by consultants will be enough for business use. But summarized documents are biased and reading full documents may have different messages and giving different messages/ In this course , we take time to read some of the epoch making reports in sustainability arena and discuss over the contents of these documents, and will acquire better knowledge and perspectives of each sustainability issues. This course is related to VM320, so it is preferable to take both course, since VM320 will cover the theoretic part and this course offers time to read reports related to the topic covered in VM320. The candidates of the reports and sometimes interesting articles are those related to SDGs, environmental issues, and social issues. The list is the candidate of reports to cover, since updated reports are more preferable.

3年におよぶコロナ禍の収束を喜ぶ間もなく、ウクライナ危機につづき、中東での紛争にが今のグローバル社会を脅かしている。また、地球温暖化は今や気候危機といわれるようになり、世界各地での異常気象は加速化常態化し、我々の経済社会生活に大きな影響をあたえつつある。しかしこの異常気象は人間活動がもたらした帰結でもある。人類が農耕生活を始めて以来世界の森林面積の1/3は失われた。それにとどまらず、２０５０年の海には魚よりプラスチックの方が多くなるといわれるように、私たちの消費活動は地球に大きな影響を与えている。また、コロナ禍につづく戦火と異常気象は移民労働者や途上国の一次産業従事者など最も脆弱な人たちの生活を脅かし、ＳＤＧｓのゴール達成を遠ざけている。今や政府や企業だけでなく、私たち消費者の立場から、いかにサウテナブルな社会構築にコミットできるかを考える。

社会人になると、論文や提言など全部を読んで勉強する機会は意外に少ない。要約文であったりコンサルタントなどの資料から内容を理解することが多い。業務上はそれで事足れることが多いからだ。しかし、その要約にはかならず要約した人のバイアスがはいるし、現物のメッセージとは違っていることも少なくない。現物を読んでみて気が付くことも少なくない。
そこでこの講義では①持続可能な社会づくりにエポックメーキングな提言となっている文献を時間内にしっかり読み、その内容について議論していくことで、持続可能な社会づくりのために必要な基礎知識を得る。この講座はVM３２０と連動しており、VM３２０の講義に合致する文献を読むので、できれば両方受講することが望ましい。文献は、サステナビリティの基礎となる文献も読むが、最新動向を見る上で最新の文献も目を通したい。よって、以下の文献は、前年までの講義で使ったものを掲載しており、必要に応じて変更する。

本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
