Students will be prepared to work on their MA thesis projects by acquiring a broad knowledge of basic theories and research methodologies in Translation and Interpreting Studies.
Students will learn basic theories and research methods in Translation and Interpreting Studies and review major prior works on topics relevant to student thesis projects. For translation theses, students will engage in preliminary discussions on the selection of materials, translation strategies, and methods of theoretical reflections. Also discussed is the relations between the theory and practice of translation and interpreting.

翻訳通訳研究の基本的な理論や研究方法について幅広い知識を得ることによって修士論文・課題研究に取り組む準備を行う。
Students will be prepared to work on their MA thesis projects by acquiring a broad knowledge of basic theories and research methodologies in Translation and Interpreting Studies.
翻訳通訳研究における基本的な理論と研究方法論について学び、履修生の論文・課題研究に関連するトピックの主な先行研究のレビューを行う。翻訳プロジェクトに取り組む履修生がいる場合は、素材の選択、翻訳ストラトジー、理論的振り返りの方法について初期的な議論を行う。また、翻訳・通訳の実践と理論との関係について議論する。
Students will learn basic theories and research methods in Translation and Interpreting Studies and review major prior works on topics relevant to student thesis projects.
