【Course Objectives】

Students will acquire a broad knowledge of the theories and research methods pertaining to their master's thesis and graduate research projects. Students will critically review relevant prior studies and identify the originality of their own projects. Students will fully understand the style guides designated for their master's theses and graduate research.

【Course Contents】

Students will learn the translation and interpreting theories and research methods relevant to their master's thesis and graduate research projects. Students will engage in critical reviews of major prior works relevant to their projects. Students working on graduate research projects will engage in preliminary discussions on their projects, including the selection of materials, translation strategies, and methods of theoretical reflections. Further, students will discuss the relations between the theory and practice of translation and interpreting. Students are reminded of the importance of fully understanding and following the Rikkyo Style and the APA Style.
