Read the entire monograph Lenguas de fuego en la evangelización de México (Siglos XVI-XVIII) by Nancy Fariss on the subject of Christian evangelization in Latin America and issues of linguistic/cultural translation of Christian doctrines in Mexico. If no students can read Spanish, we use the English version Tongues of Fire: Language and Evangelization in Colonial Mexico (2018).

ラテンアメリカにおけるキリスト教宣教を主題とし、メキシコを舞台に言語と文化の翻訳の問題を扱ったNancy FarissのモノグラフLenguas de fuego en la evangelización de México (Siglos XVI-XVIII)を全編読む。スペイン語を読める学生がいない場合は英語版の Tongues of Fire: Language and Evangelization in Colonial Mexico (2018)を利用する。
