Using 'First Steps in Anthropology' as a text, this class will follow in the tracks of four anthropologists - Malinowski, Levi-Strauss, Boaz and Ingold - through a hundred years of anthropology as it was established at the beginning of the 20th century. The course will give a full view of anthropology's exploration of 'human life'.
Reading chapters from 'First Steps in Anthropology' will deepen our understanding of anthropology.

本授業では、『はじめての人類学』をテキストとして、20世紀初頭に確立された人類学の百年を、マリノフスキ、レヴィ=ストロース、ボアズ、インゴルドという4人の人類学者の足跡を追います。この授業では、「人間の生」を探究する人類学の全貌が浮かび上がるでしょう。
