The objective of this course is to deliver an overview of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and facilitate students' understanding of CLIL-based approaches and pedagogies.Throughout the course, students will learn the principles and methodology of CLIL from a wide range of readings and extensive discussions.Furthermore, studetns will be guided that the insights gained in this class can be applied to the analysis and examination of their research themes.
In this course, I will introduce Contend and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) as an educational approach in which a target language is used for the learning and teaching of both content and language. The course will cover the theoretical frameworks of CLIL and explicate the fundamental differences between the existing educational approaches as well as content-based language teaching and immersion programs. Students will not only learn the academic background of CLIL, but learn how it can be put into practice. They will be asked to conduct micro-teaching based on CLIL methodology.

Students will read the assigned reading materials beforehand and prepare for review and discussion sessions in class. Three reaction papers will be required during the semester.
