This course is intended to provide students with an opportunity to systematically learn the methodology of conversation analysis. It also introduces the students to the insights that previous conversation analytic studies have developed regarding how social interactions are organized.
This course introduces students to the methodology of conversation analysis, along with its basic ideas about the organization of social interactions. Conversation analysis examines audio-visual recordings of naturally occurring interactions and explores the participants’ orientations exhibited in all details of their interactions (such as overlaps of utterances and micro-pauses). Specifically, this course addresses practices by which specific actions are formed and constructed in ways sensitive to the details of interactions.

「会話分析」の分析手法を体系的に学習する．その過程において，そもそも人間の相互行為とはどのように成り立っているのかについての，様々な洞察を獲得する．
This course is intended to provide students with an opportunity to systematically learn the methodology of conversation analysis. It also introduces the students to the insights that previous conversation analytic studies have developed regarding how social interactions are organized.
この授業では，エスノメソドロジー的相互行為分析，とくに「会話分析」と呼ばれる分析法の基本的な考え方と方法を体系的に紹介する．社会のの基盤である社会的相互行為がどのように組織されているかを，行為の構成に焦点を絞りながら考察する．会話分析は，実際の会話の録音・録画を，発話の重なりやわずかな沈黙を見逃さずに，詳細に検討する．そのような詳細な分析がなぜ必要なのか，人間の行為にとって，そのような細かなことがらはどのような意味があるのかなどを，考える．

授業は，読書課題，講義，分析課題，ディスカッションのサイクルによって成り立つ．毎週必ず，読書課題もしくは分析課題がでる．毎回の課題はすべて必ず提出することが，単位認定の必要条件である．

相互行為に関心があれば，誰でも参加できる．ただし，授業は，実際に録音・ビデオを分析するための訓練として組織されるので，自身の研究で，録音・ビデオの分析を計画していることが望ましい
