生命理学科学生限定 |
The goal of this course is that students have ability to understand textbooks of biology and scientific research papers written in English. Additionally, this course aims to train the ability of students to give basic presentations of their scientific research in English.
The course consists of two parts.
Part I: Students will read short commentary for general readers and papers for scientists in the field of life sciences. Students will learn how is the structure of scientific papers, materials and method of experiments, references in the papers. Students will learn how to organize data in a logical fashion. Assignments will be provided for students to prepare and review to take the class actively.
Part II: Students will perform reading exercises based on biological topics, listening exercises using recorded sounds, writing exercises comprising writing an experiment report, and speaking exercises.

英語で書かれた生物学のテキスト、及び科学に関する論文の内容を理解できるようになること、また英語で科学研究を初歩的に表現できる力をつけること。
The goal of this course is that students have ability to understand textbooks of biology and scientific research papers written in English. Additionally, this course aims to train the ability of students to give basic presentations of their scientific research in English.
受講生を２つのグループに分ける。各グループは各担当教員が７回にわたって授業する。
榊原：ライフサイエンス分野の学術雑誌に掲載された一般読者向けの解説記事や専門家向けの論文を読み、論文の構成、実験方法・文献のまとめ方、論理的な実験データの組み立て方、英語論文の表現を理解する。授業参加のための予習・復習のため課題を提示する。
中川：生物学をテーマにしたreading演習、音声教材によるlistening演習、及びspeaking演習を行う。英語で実験レポートを書き、writing演習も行う。
