社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
(1) To acquire basic knowledge, thinking and reading skills related to religion, society and individuals through Max Weber's "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism". (2) In order to combine Weber's ideas with "social design", read the texts of Fromm and Frankl and become able to objectively explain and critique them. (3) Based on the above two points, students should acquire the skills to express their opinions independently and persuasively.
How is so-called "religion" related to society? The whole course will be divided into the first half and the second half roughly except for the guidance. In the first half, students will learn the method of reading multiple sources on a single subject while learning how to read somewhat difficult text through the explanatory book on Weber's "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" which can be said to be essential in thinking about religion and society. In the second half, leading on from this, students will read the texts of Fromm and Frankl, and think about the ideal state of individuals and society through religion.
Students must read the designated texts in advance, listen to the commentary by the lecturer in the classes, ask questions and dialogue, and write brief comments after the classes. By feeding back the comments in the next class and sharing them with all the participants, we hope to make the class a multi-directional and circulatory "place of dialogue" and "community of intellectual inquiry".

人文系の比較的難解（硬質）な文章を読解し、その内容に関連して自ら思考し、自身の意見を述べる能力。
対面参加者も、zoom接続可能な機器（ノートパソコン・タブレット）持参が望ましい。
第一回目授業「ガイダンス」にて、授業の方針・進め方を説明します。
本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
（１）マックス・ウェーバー『プロテスタンティズムの倫理と資本主義の精神』を通して、宗教と社会・個人にかかわる基礎的な知識や思考力・読解力を身につけること。（２）ウェーバーの思想を「社会デザイン」に結合するべく、フロムやフランクルの文章を読み、それらについて客観的な説明・批評ができるようになること。（３）上記の二点をふまえ、学生自身が主体的に説得力のある意見を述べる技能を身につけること。

いわゆる「宗教」が、社会とどのように関わっているのか。講義全体は、ガイダンスをのぞき、おおまかに前半と後半に分かれる。前半は、宗教と社会について考える上で必須と言えるウェーバー『プロテスタンティズムの倫理と資本主義の精神』に関する解説書を通して、やや難解な文章の読解方法を学びつつ、単一テーマについて複数の文献を重ね合わせながら読む手法も学ぶ。後半は、そのつながりから、フロム、フランクルの文章を読み、宗教を通した個人と社会のあり方について考える。
学生は、事前に指定の文章を読み、授業内で講師による解説を聞いて質疑・討議を行い、授業後に簡単なコメントを書く。そのコメントを次回の授業でフィードバックし、参加者全員で共有することで、授業を、循環する複方向型の「対話の場」、「知的探求の共同体」としたい。
