本講義は、学際領域としての翻訳通訳研究の最新動向について考察し、本研究分野の現在の地平を明らかにするとともに、急速にグローバル化し変化する現代社会における今後の課題を探ることを目標とする。
This course aims to discuss the latest trends in Translation and Interpreting Studies as an interdisciplinary field, to identify the current horizon of the field, and to explore future challenges in today's rapidly globalizing and changing society.
このコースでは、翻訳通訳研究の歴史を概観したうえで、メディア、テクノロジー、教育、紛争・戦争、多文化共生など、さまざまな切り口から翻訳通訳研究の最新動向について考察する。授業活動を通し、翻訳通訳研究の現状に対する理解を深めるとともに、将来の課題について議論し、その知見を受講生自らの研究に反映させることを目指す。クラスの活動では、学生主導による発表と討論が行われる。受講生は指示された文献を熟読して授業にのぞむことが求められる。また、発表担当者は発表の準備を十全に行うとともに、クラスでの討論を活性化させる役割を担う。
尚、スケジュール、および扱うテーマはクラスの状況、要望に応じ変更される場合がある。
Beginning with an overview of the history of Translation and Interpreting Studies (TIS), this course examines recent trends in TIS through various thematic lenses: media, technology, education, conflict and war, and multiculturalism. The course will allow students to develop their understanding of the current state of TIS, discuss its future challenges, and finally apply the knowledge gained to their research. Class activities will include student-led presentations and discussions. Students are expected to read all assigned materials thoroughly before coming to class and to prepare well for presentations so that they can play a role in facilitating class discussion.

本学では1単位あたりの学修時間を45時間としています（授業時間を含む）。この点をふまえた上で、履修者は事前学修・事後学修を行ってください。
各回の予習・復習の具体的内容については、授業時に指示する。
基本的に、授業前には指定された文献を熟読することと必要に応じて調査を行うこと、授業後は復習を兼ねリアクションペーパーを提出することが求められる。発表担当者は発表の準備を十全に行うこと。
