The objective of this course is to develop a multifaceted understanding of tourism through the examination of tourism practices in local communities.
In many local communities, tourism is positioned as an effective tool for addressing social and economic issues. This course approaches tourism from this perspective and examines case studies of tourism initiatives from different regions within their historical contexts. It also considers the outcomes of these efforts and the issues that have emerged from them. In addition, the course introduces important recent developments in the field of tourism.

地域社会における観光の実践例を通じて、観光を理解するための多角的な視点を得ることを目的とします。
The objective of this course is to develop a multifaceted understanding of tourism through the examination of tourism practices in local communities.
地域社会において観光は、社会的・経済的な諸課題の解決に向けた有効な手段として位置づけられています。本講座では、この「手段としての観光」という視点に立ち、各地域における観光の取り組み事例を、その時代背景とともに取り上げます。さらに、そうした取り組みがもたらした成果と、そこから浮かび上がる課題について考察します。加えて、観光分野における最新動向についても随時紹介します。
