The interacting logics of economics and politics shape the world. This course aims to cultivate students’ ability to independently analyze and interpret such world.
The world is complex and diverse, and encompasses a wide range of issues. This class consists of three parts. First, we will learn about the path the world has taken and understand the modern world as its destination. Second, we will examine the research of leading scholars, learning about the vigorous research into political economic issues that have arisen in each era, the academic fields that have emerged, and the fascinating content and wealth of wisdom needed to understand the modern world. Finally, we will boldly narrow down the many topics to be learned and consider the path the modern world is heading in.

授業の冒頭で行う各回のポイントや問題提起を踏まえて、教員からの問いかけへの解答を求める形で自ら考えながら受講する。
授業資料を電子配信するため、紙媒体の印刷、PDFファイル閲覧可能なノートパソコン（タブレットでも可）の双方を準備しておくとベターである。
（1）レジュメを配布し、レジュメに準拠したパワーポイントを用いて授業を進めていく。
（2）原則として、全授業回対面実施予定である。授業に必要なアナウンスや課題配信は、Canvas LMSを通じて行う。

The interacting logics of economics and politics shape the world. This course aims to cultivate students’ ability to independently analyze and interpret such world.
世界は、複雑かつ多様であり、幅広い論点を含んでいる。本授業は、3つから構成される。まず、世界が歩んできた道のりを学び、その到着点としての現代世界を理解する。次に、有力な学者の研究内容を取り上げ、各時代に起きた政治経済問題の精力的な研究、誕生した学問、現代を理解するための興味深い内容や豊富な知恵を学ぶ。最後に、沢山ある学ぶべき内容を思い切って絞り込んで、現代世界の向かう道を考える。
