【Course Objectives】

This course is one of the subjects offered by the Rikkyo Institute for Peace and Community Studies. The purpose of this course is to acquire the ability to capture the reality of Japan’s multi-cultural policies from the perspectives of the immigrant society, Japanese society, municipal government, and Japanese government.

【Course Contents】

We will recapture the history of the creation of a multi-cultural society, which has been the center of focus since the beginning of the 21st century, from the aspects of history, individual ethnic groups, and recognition by the Japanese society. We will also cover the history and issues concerning the multi-cultural policies.
