The purpose of this course is to examine 20th-century European political history from the perspective of various democracies, and acquire the ability to understand political thought, political history, and comparative politics.
Through the reading of Jan-Werner Müller ‘Contested Democracy’, we will grasp the trajectory of various democracies in Europe in the 20th century. In addition, we examines the crises facing contemporary Europe. According to the interest of the participants, we will also examine relations with the outside of Europe.

多様な民主主義の観点から、20世紀の欧州政治史を考察し、政治思想と政治史・比較政治を理解する能力を身に着ける。

ヤン=ヴェルナー ミュラー 『試される民主主義』の購読を通じて、20世紀の欧州における多様な民主主義の軌跡を把握する。加えて現代の欧州が直面する危機について検討する。参加者の関心に応じて、欧州の外部との関係についても検討する。
