The aim of this course is to learn concepts, research methods and research examples from translation and interpreting studies and based on your own interests develop a theoretical framework for carrying out research.
Based on reference literature and class handouts the fundamental theories of translation and interpreting will be systematically introduced. Lessons will be centered around lectures and student presentations/debates, so it is expected that students will actively participate. As we will cover topics that students are interested in, there may be changes to the syllabus content.

通訳・翻訳学の概念、研究方法、研究事例を学び、自らの関心に基づいて研究を行うための理論的枠組みを習得する。

参考文献と配布するプリントに基づいて基本的な通訳・翻訳理論を体系的に紹介する。授業は講義と受講者の発表・討論を中心に進めるため、受講者の積極的な参加を期待する。受講者の関心のあるテーマを取り上げるため、シラバスの内容は変更する場合もある。
Based on reference literature and class handouts the fundamental theories of translation and interpreting will be systematically introduced.
