【Course Objectives】

On successful completion of this class, students will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of the politics, economy, society, and foreign and security policy of Russia.

【Course Contents】

This course provides a broad introduction to Russian studies. We begin with a brief overview of the Soviet era. Then we explore key issues in post-Soviet Russia, such as its political system, economic transformations and consequences, nation-building and nationalism, gender order, demographic trends, and foreign and security policy.
