This course is one of the subjects offered by the Rikkyo Institute for Peace and Community Studies. The purpose of this course is to acquire the ability to capture the reality of Japan’s multi-cultural policies from the perspectives of the immigrant society, Japanese society, municipal government, and Japanese government.
We will recapture the history of the creation of a multi-cultural society, which has been the center of focus since the beginning of the 21st century, from the aspects of history, individual ethnic groups, and recognition by the Japanese society. We will also cover the history and issues concerning the multi-cultural policies.

この科目は、立教大学平和・コミュニティ研究機構の提供科目のひとつである。日本の多文化政策の実情について、「移民社会」「日本社会」「地方自治体」「日本政府」それぞれの視点から捉える能力を身に付けることを目標とする。

21世紀に入って以降、注目され続けている多文化社会が形成されるまでの経緯を「歴史」「それぞれのエスニックグループ」「日本社会の認識」といった側面から捉え直した上で、政策上の変遷と課題を解説する。
We will recapture the history of the creation of a multi-cultural society, which has been the center of focus since the beginning of the 21st century, from the aspects of history, individual ethnic groups, and recognition by the Japanese society.
