The purpose of this course is to use comparative political approaches to understand and conduct research on different problems in Europe and the world. The main topics in 2024 will be the relations between Europe, Ukraine, and Russia, and the new welfare state theories.
Participants read new literature about politics in Europe and prepare their comments to engage in debate. In the first half of the semester, topics such as the Ukraine issues as well as the welfare state theories will be discussed. In the second half, participants will discuss the applicability of comparative political approaches while presenting their topics.

ヨーロッパと世界の政治が取り組む現代的課題について，比較政治のアプローチを用いて理解し，さらに自らリサーチする能力を身につける。2024年度はヨーロッパとウクライナ・ロシア，最新の福祉国家理論などを重点的トピックとする。
The purpose of this course is to use comparative political approaches to understand and conduct research on different problems in Europe and the world. The main topics in 2024 will be the relations between Europe, Ukraine, and Russia, and the new welfare state theories.
ヨーロッパの政治・社会に関する最新の文献を講読し，各々の視点からコメントを用意して討議する。特に前半は，ウクライナ問題，福祉国家理論などからトピックを取り上げる。後半は自主発表を行い，さらにディスカッションを通じて比較政治的なアプローチの可能性を探っていきたい。参加者各自が専門とする地域・分野からの「持ち込み」も歓迎する。
Participants read new literature about politics in Europe and prepare their comments to engage in debate.
