This course aims to address new trends in translation and interpreting studies in recent years, to identify the current state of the research field, and to explore its future challenges and changing needs.
Beginning with an overview of the history of Translation and Interpreting Studies (TIS), this course examines emerging trends in TIS through various thematic lenses: media, technology, education, conflict and war, and multiculturalism. The course will allow students to develop their understanding of the current state of TIS, discuss its future challenges and changing needs, and finally apply the knowledge gained to their research. Class activities will include student-led presentations and discussions. Students are expected to read all assigned materials thoroughly before coming to class and to prepare well for presentations so that they can play a role in facilitating class discussion.

本講義は、近年における翻訳通訳研究の新たな潮流について考察し、研究領域の現在の地平を明らかにするとともに、今後の課題とニーズの変化を探求することを目的とする。
This course aims to address new trends in translation and interpreting studies in recent years, to identify the current state of the research field, and to explore its future challenges and changing needs.
このコースでは、翻訳通訳研究の歴史を概観したうえで、メディア、テクノロジー、教育、紛争・戦争、多文化共生など、さまざまな切り口から翻訳通訳研究の新たな潮流について考察する。授業活動を通し、翻訳通訳研究の現状に対する理解を深めるとともに、将来の課題やニーズの変化について議論し、その知見を受講生自らの研究に反映させることを目指す。クラスの活動では、学生主導による発表と討論が行われれる。受講生は指示された文献を熟読して授業にのぞむことが求められる。また、発表担当者は発表の準備を十全に行うとともに、クラスでの討論を活性化させる役割を担う。
尚、スケジュール、および扱うテーマはクラスの状況に応じ変更される場合がある。
