【Course Objectives】

Along with aiming to acquire and improve their skills of reading academic papers in comparative educational research, students each share their individual research themes.

【Course Contents】

Students will do literature readings in a seminar format.
Each discussion leader, along with summarizing concepts from the literature, conducts an extended survey in advance based on the contents of those readings and reports the results. Along with this report, students continue question-and-answer sessions and carry out discussions.
This academic year aims to continue from the previous year, taking on the issue of “education and colonialism/postcolonialism” from a comparative education perspective. Malini Schueller’s Campaigns of Knowledge (Temple University Press 2019) and Charlie Veric's Children of the Postcolony (Ateneo de Manila University press 2020) are being considered as potential literature.
Students in charge rotate each week, but this might be adjusted depending on the number of students.
