This course aims to deepen the understanding of the fundamental concepts and key issues in bioethics and environmental ethics, while simultaneously enhancing comprehension through the integration with individual research themes.
After studying the basic concepts of bioethics, environmental ethics, major issues in Japanese, the students read papers related to both of them in English. After that, we discuss materials (in Japanese and English) on practices on sustainable living and discuss key points of bioethics and environmental ethics.

生命倫理、環境倫理の基礎概念、主要論点の理解を深め、それぞれの研究テーマと関連づけながら理解を深めることを本授業の目標とする。
This course aims to deepen the understanding of the fundamental concepts and key issues in bioethics and environmental ethics, while simultaneously enhancing comprehension through the integration with individual research themes.
生命倫理、環境倫理の基礎概念、主要論点を日本語で学んだ後、その双方に関わる論文（英文）を講読する。その上で持続可能な暮らしに実践についての資料（和文献、英文献）を検討した後に、生命倫理、環境倫理の主要論点について議論する。
After studying the basic concepts of bioethics, environmental ethics, major issues in Japanese, the students read papers related to both of them in English. After that, we discuss materials (in Japanese and English) on practices on sustainable living and discuss key points of bioethics and environmental ethics.
